Wally's House is a Child Abuse Intervention Center (CAIC). A CAIC provides a community based, collaborative, child-focused response to child abuse. Its primary focus is the reduction of trauma to the child. The Secondary focus is to provide improved investigative outcomes in Child Abuse cases.
Wally's House is committed to preventing child abuse in our community. We have educational resources designed for schools, caregivers and children.
To provide prevention of child abuse and neglect for all children while insuring intervention and advocacy for those who are suspected victims of abuse, for their support and healing.
Wally's House is administered by Director Jackalene (Jackie) Antunes with the guidance of her Board of Directors. Jackie comes to Wally’s House from a background working in residential treatment facilities in Texas, training in three different models of treatment. She also worked as the Behavior Specialist for Riley Creek School, running the Time Out/Detention Program; and spent six and a half years working as Juvenile Probation Officer for Curry County Juvenile Department. While at the Juvenile Department she covered the county’s Medium Risk Caseload.
Jackie has volunteered in the Curry County’s CASA Program, Gold Beach High School’s ASPIRE Program, and has enjoyed the outlet the Curry County Master Gardeners’ training, and the Gold Beach Quilt Guild has offered. Jackie is a member of Soroptimist International of Gold Beach, and has served on their board as Corresponding Secretary, Treasurer and Vice President in charge of Programs.
Children and their well being are Jackie’s passion! Her greatest passion and pride in life have been her family and raising her daughter and son to adulthood with her husband, Tony.
Working at Wally’s House is the pinnacle of her passion and fulfillment. She delights in offering children a safe place to tell their story, and receive comfort, advocacy and begin their journey to healing.
